The process itself consists of lightening the tone of the teeth by extracting pigment from the inside, and although this is an interference with the structure of the teeth, there is no risk of damage if we follow our guidelines for preparation and maintenance afterwards.

There are two types of teeth whitening according to the location of performance: at-home and in-office, which are equally effective and gentle if they are performed carefully and a high quality whitening system is chosen.

*Avi Dent recommends and uses the non-aggressive method for teeth whitening with the Swiss PURE system – with high efficiency and easy to use products.

PURE products have a neutral pH and highly purified peroxide gel, which ensures excellent tolerability and reduction of unwanted side effects such as: increased sensitivity of the teeth and severe whitening of the gums due to burning with whitening gel.

The end result of white tone depends on the number of procedures performed, but not everyone can achieve a bright white smile, as other determining factors are: structure, composition of teeth, age of the patient and the presence of bad habits.

The effect and its longevity also depend on the maintenance of the result, bad habits of the patient and the consumption of coloring foods and beverages.

Necessary preparation before each type of whitening is the cleaning of the tartar, the removal of plaque and external stains and the polishing of the teeth with Aqua Care.

IN-OFFICE WHITENING

In-office whitening is carried out directly at our dental clinic Avi Dent. You will get a bright smile for just one hour visit.

Used whitening system:

– PURE Power 38% hydrogen peroxide

Degree of bleaching: medium to very strong

Presence of sensitivity: very rare

The procedure is performed in the following steps:

1. Applying a gingival barrier – a gel that protects the gums from the strong whitening gel;
2. Applying whitening gel – 3 times for 12 to 15 minutes;
3. Removal of the gel and the barrier completely;
4. Rinsing with mouthwash;
5. In order to quickly stabilize the color and reduce the possible presence of low sensitivity, we use remineralizing foam PURE Care;

For a better and longer lasting result after in-office whitening, it is recommended to enhance and maintain the effect with an at-home whitening system.

AT-HOME WHITENING

Home whitening with splints – we make individual splints in which you apply the whitening gel. Choosing an appropriate and quality at-home whitening system and following the tips for proper implementation are important factors for the end result. A good choice for this purpose is the PURE Sun system with 22% carbamide peroxide. Carbamide peroxide in this dose is the ideal active principle for teeth whitening, which allows you to get optimal results with just two applications of 45 minutes a day for 7-9 days.

Degree of whitening: medium to strong, good for enhancing and maintaining the effect of in-office whitening

Presence of sensitivity: very rare

The procedure is performed in the following steps:

1. Dental impression are taken by us and individual splints are prepared. It is extremely important that this is done by a professional, because it ensures that they will be on even distance from your teeth and have reservoirs that hold the whitening gel in the right place. Otherwise, there is a risk that your splints will not fit and that there will be an uneven distribution or leakage of the whitening gel;
2. Trying on the splints and receiving instructions from us for proper use of the selected whitening system;
3. Bleaching by gel application – in each bleaching system the content of hydrogen or carbamide peroxide is different, respectively according to their concentration the recommended duration of each procedure is determined;
4. Repeat the procedure and use proper oral hygiene products to maintain the result.

At-home whitening without splints

This method does not require the preparation of individual splints, because the whitening gel is applied directly to the teeth with a pen, and the effect is enhanced by the LED lamp included in the set. The system is PURE Smile and Whiteness – a pen with 16% carbamide peroxide and an LED lamp. The procedure is completely safe. The duration of the procedures is about 45 minutes a day for a period of 7 days.
